CCIA At-Large Commissioner and State Trust Lands Conservation & Recreation Workgroup Applications are open!
The Colorado Commission of Indian Affairs (CCIA) is looking for two At-Large Commissioners. At-Large Commissioners are appointed through a Commission vote and serve three-year terms. The Commission will appoint At-Large Commissioners at its quarterly meeting on September 4, 2025.
At-Large Commissioners:
- Have an understanding of Tribal governments & Tribal sovereignty
- Are passionate about working with Tribal Nations and American Indian/Alaska Native communities
- Attend quarterly Commission meetings and other meetings of the Commission as convened by the Chair

On May 13, 2025, Governor Polis signed HB25-1332 State Trust Lands Conservation & Recreation Work Group into law. The Colorado Commission of Indian Affairs will appoint a member of the American Indian/Alaska Native community to the workgroup at its quarterly meeting on September 4, 2025.
The appointee should:
- Be a member of the AI/AN community in Colorado
- Should have interest or experience in issues such as;
- Land stewardship, conservation, or recreation;
- Tribal lands, sovereignty, or treaty rights;
- Environmental justice or outdoor equity
