Natives Outdoors, the Colorado Commission of Indian Affairs (CCIA), and the Colorado Outdoor Recreation Industry Office (OREC) will convene a 1-day summit of tribal leaders and organizations around the 2018 Outdoor Retailers Summer Market in Denver, Colorado, July 23-26.The summit will focus on and discuss the current state and pathways for public lands management, outdoor recreation, and the opportunities for collaboration with the tribes.
This partnership highlights the leadership of Colorado's outdoor industry and the state's desire to proactively engage with the many native nations on topics of relevance and importance to both communities. This effort combines Natives Outdoors' experience of working within Indian country on outdoor recreation,
OREC's breadth of experience within the Outdoor Industry, and CCIA's strong foundation of fostering solid government-to-government relationships with Tribes and engagement with Colorado's Urban Indian communities, will provide new insights and opportunities for tribes and &, the outdoor industry to work directly on common areas of interest. Including economic development, health promotion, cultural revitalization, and public lands management.
